Hi,
Is there anybody who has already programmed an URC 7525 remote control moreover I would like to know if it is possible to adapt an URC 7556 config in order to import it in the URC 7525. Thanks for any information about this issue. Florian

As far as I am aware of, no rdf file for the 7525 exists. Since the remote is extremely limited (e.g. with 1KiB of flash) it is not likely that anyone will write one either. A 7556 config will definitely not fit.

If someone posts an IR dump from the URC-7525, we'll start an RDF for it.

Ok, here. The 7525 is a very dumb device, not even with "device buttons", but a sort of dedicated tv + sat/cable remote.

BTW, how about moving the thread to a more suitable area? Non-JP1 is about as wrong as it can be. Wink

Here's a starter RDF:
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=6443

Here's the user manual:
http://www.oneforall-int.com/download/manual/Manual_URC-7525_ENG_DEU_FRA_ESP_POR_ITA_NED_HUN_POL_CZE.pdf

Have you tried doing keymoves (ie, the 994 command) on this remote?

Thanx. Although not mentioned in the manual, 994-efc seems to sort-of work in the sense that new bindings can be introduced, but, it seems, only on the TV side.

Could you do a 994 keymove and then download again so I can see what changed. I suppose you should also try 995 to see if you can program macros.

Here is a file with a 994 eft 0f 00044 (RC5/0 power toggle) put onto key "1". I did not manage to define any macro with 995

I've just updated the RDF so it now shows the keymoves.
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=6443

I've included guesses for the button codes for the numeric, channel and volume buttons, but we need to figure out the rest of the button codes.

Macros would have made this easier, but if 995 doesn't work, you'll need to do keymoves to get the button codes. If you do "copy" keymoves (ie, where you copy one button to another, instead of programming EFCs) you can get 2 button codes with each keymove.

Here is the next iteration, keycodes are there (not extensively tested, the code for magic I could not check). I did not spend too much time on the image and map. Device and protocol upgrades are not working; it is not clear to me if the device supports it or if the rdf is wrong. (Defining in IR and uploading it does not work, downloading they are gone again). Macros also are not working, not per 995, not by defining in IR.

I've just tweeked the RDF so (hopefully) upgrades will work now.

Sounds interesting. I could not find a tweaked version though. Question

With the tweaked rdf, I still can not get upgrades to work. Downloading the just-uploaded image shows that the areas filled by the upgrade has been filled with FFs. One more thing:
Code:

AdvCodeAddr=$0019..$01FF
UpgradeAddr=$0102..$03FF

overlapping memory segments??? Confused

That's a typo. I noticed a typo in the upgrade checksum also, so try this new RDF:
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=6443

Btw, you will need to re-add your upgrades.
