hi im new to this site. I just baught on ebay a PARAMOUNT PICTURES AV SURROUND DECODER FX3000. it didnt come with a remote or manual, I was hopeing someone could tell me how to program a directv remote to work this decoder.

We have a JP1 upgrade for this device here.

This upgrade matches setup code audio/0317 for UEI remotes, but this is a very old code and it hasn't been included in any remotes that I know of for quite a while. It certainly hasn't been in any new remotes since the late 90s.

So, I doubt that your DirecTV remote has a code for it.

However, I could load the code into a remote and sell it to you , if you like. I could load a "One For All" URC-8820 remote with the code for $19 plus $5 shipping. This is an 8 device remote with learning.

Rob, you would have to load the code for current line of directv receivers too, since the 8820 doesn't have SAT code 1377 on board.
