This JP1 stuff has a steep learning curve!!!
Before I make a JP1 cable and attempt the programming of a remote, I would appreciate anybodys guidance as to if what I am going to try and do is relatively simple or not.
I have done the required programming using a Pronto.ccf running on an iPAQ but was not happy with the battery life. Before spending on a Pronto TSU-3000 I thought I would see if a remote which is sitting i nthe cupboard would do what I want!
I have a URC-7541 One for All Digital remote already.
Equipment to be controlled...
Panny Plasma
Yamaha AMP
Nokia DTTV box
Panny VCR
Limit DVD
Denon CD/Tuner
All needed codes have been learned into the iPAQ and are available in CCF format.
The set up would need to use the AMP for ALL volume adjustment, the Plasma input changing as the device buttons are pressed to select the correct input aswell as changing the AMP input and possible turning off the other components?
So can a device set (say TV) have different device codes for different buttons? e.g. volume operates the AMP, Numbers operate the DTTV box and the special buttons operate the plasma aspect???
Is the 7541 capable of doing what I want? is it worth me making a cable?
TIA
Simon
