keymap-master codes show up incorrectly in IR (bug???)

Post by rtaheri »

Hello JP1 gods,
Let me start by acknowledging that this will very likely turn out to be a pilot error. If so, apologies in advance.

I have this problem with the device upgrades for the Samsung_LN46A550 (TV) and Sony_Receiver_Combo 0158_8910 (Sony DB830 audio receiver). Let me describe the problem:

Download keymap-master-v9.16 and IR 7.15. Load Sony_Receiver_Combo 0158_8910 into KM, and change the remote to 15-134. In buttons, assign the Discrete ON/OFF buttons to the power on/off functions. Copy the device upgrade code and paste it into IR. Look at the Discrete ON/OFF. It says [Not Mapped].

Load Samsung_LN46A550 into KM, change the remote to 15-134, but don't make any other changes. Observe that phantom1 is mapped to Antenna, which has the EFC code 00150. Copy and paste into IR. Observe that phantom 1 shows up as EFC code 00061 (which is select component 1).

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,
Reza

Please provide links to the files that you are using so we can try to replicate the problem.

Thanks
Rob

Make sure you have the latest RDF. The discretes and phantoms may have moved around a bit in the past few months. So you may have to rework your upgrades a bit. The latest RDF's appear to be in sync with the latest KM now. Sorry for the confusion.

OK, here are the links. To make sure, I re-downloaded everything to a new folder as I am writing this post.

Get the RDFs from https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=3950

Above does not have the 15-13X. Get the additional RDFs from https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=5582

Get IR from https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=4507

Get KM from https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=1888

Get the Samsung TV device upgrade file from https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=5513

I then went through the steps outlined in the original post, and again see the phantom 1 key as showing up with EFC 061 (not the correct 150).

Thanks,
Reza

Those updated RDF files have changed the naming of the phantom keys after the 15-134 was added to KM, so IR will not agree with KM's names now.

Here is a translation table:
KM DiscreteOn = IR phantom7
KM DiscreteOff = IR phantom8
KM phantom1 = IR DiscreteOn
KM phantom2 = IR DiscreteOff
KM phantom3 = IR phantom1
KM phantom4 = IR phantom2
KM phantom5 = IR phantom3
KM phantom6 = IR phantom4
KM phantom7 = IR phantom5
KM phantom8 = IR phantom6
KM phantom9 = IR phantom9

Reza,

Sorry for the mixup. HERE's an older RDF for you that matches KM.

Mike,

Sorry about that. I was trying to make the 13x phantom arrangement as logical as I could across all models, with consideration to the extender as well. I didn't even realize you had already added the 133 and 134 to KM until I saw this post.

I just happened to be using the same version as you on the computer I'm on at the moment. So the mapping worked fine when I tried it.

Thanks for the quick attention, guys. I switched to the older rdf file, and it is working now.

Cheers,
Reza
