2. Type of device: Sat
3. Year: 2004
4. JP1/UEI Remote model: URC-8910
5. Do you have a JP1 cable? Yes
6. Still have original remote? Yes
7. Checked the file section? Yes
8. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)? Yes
9. Partially working setup code? N/A
10. Learning remote question? N/A

4. 5. 6. Consider learning the commands from the original remote and using the JP1 tools to create an upgrade.

10. The answer should be "Yes" as the 8910 is a learning remote.

If it were me, I'd try the D10 updrades in the SATELITE section of the File area. The other D10 boxes use a DirecTV protocol. You'll need to add that protocol to your IR file too.

Have you downloaded IR, Decode_IR, RM and the Java runtimes?

Download the unmodified remote into IR and save it.

Use RM to open the D10 upgrade.

AFTER its loaded, change the remote to be your remote.

Copy the DEVICE output to IR

Copy the PROTOCOL output to IR

Assign the Device to your SAT button

Upload to your remote and try the upgrade.

No need to learn or create your own upgrade. Any of the dozen or so D10/H20/HR20 (address 1) upgrades absolutely WILL work. If IR/RM/KM are too much for you, there are also wav upgrades for the D10 you could use.

The file: "DirecTV D10 D11 D12 H20 H21 H23 HR20 HR21 HR22 HR23" works works great with my D10-300 box and URC-8910!
