Just bought a new 42" Panasonic plasma TV and Blu-Ray DVD.
Installers yesterday installed everything AND also activated my Comcast 3-device On Demand controller to control my Yahama RX-V730 receiver with the AUX inputs since they could not find codes for the Panasonic DMP-BD35K DVD.
Everything was working fine until we 'changed channels' on the Comcast controller - NO surround sound!!! Noticed that the AUX control was ON when we changed channels. After no success I switched the TV audio on and finished the night.
This AM I found the cause - my cable audio in now on the DVD input to the receiver. No cable have been touched. I have an digital optic audio from both the cable receiver and the DVD going into the Yahama receiver. I have not checked what happens with the DVD in use.
Somehow I must have changed the Yahama receiver input name as the cables have not been touched. How do I get back to the correct Input name??
Also how do I undo the Comcast controller from controlling the Yahama?
Also where can I finf a code for the Pansonic Blu-Ray DVD so I can set it up in the AUX position.
Thanks for any assistance
WillieRay

http://www.urcsupport.com/index.php is a link to cable remotes. Pick the COMCAST link and then find your remote and see if they have your Panasonic DVD listed.
As far as changing your input source, on my yamaha receiver if you press the numeric buttons it changes the input source. I have 6 input sources and the numbers 1, 2,3,4,5,6 change the input source.
So my guess is that you changed the input source when you thought you were punching in a channel.
If you pick a different code for AUX from the site above, it will no longer control your Yamaha even if you can't find a code that will control your blue ray.

Have now tried the DVD player and I can NOT get its audio from any selected input source on the Yahama. Video is fine but my only audio is from cable when DVD input is selected on the Yahama receiver.
Thanks for the Blu-Ray code suggestion. There is no exact match but they thought 20490 would work. Will try.

Can you manually select the input that your DVD player is connected to, i.e. if the DVD player is connected on receiver input 1 via toslink, can you select that connection? Some receivers will have both an optical and digital connection for each input. Some also allow you to select the optical or digital connection on that input, or set it to auto.
And probably a dumb question, but have you verified you have a connection from the dvd player to the receiver and the dvd player is outputing a stream that the receiver can decode/process?
Beyond this, you'll need to go back to your manual for the receiver and the dvd player inorder to verify the setup. I agree with Vicky that at some point in the setup, you changed some configuration parameter.
Best,
jeff

No such thing as a dumb question!
After lunch my good logic kicked in and yes then I check the hoop up!!!
Circuit City (Geek Squad) free setup was not worth it!! They had the cable audio hooked up CD input. After that was corrected all worked well.
Thanks to all !!! Everything is NOW good.
Thanks
