I'm back to JP1 after some quiet years, so I'm kind of relearning. I've downloaded all the latest software, but I'm having trouble with IR and getting it to see my remote.
I have an old parallel JP1 cable, attached to my old URC-8811 remote.
IR (v7.15) always returns "Failed to open JP1.x interface". I am unable to select any other interface (greyed out in drop down). The "check interface" function gets the same error.
I am running 32 bit Vista.
I also tried running IR (v5.0) which I had in a separate directory from long ago. It complained immediately about being unable to initilize drivers for any JP1 interface and "Parallel/Serial Error: Unable to open Service Control Manager".
I'm guessing I need to do something v/v Vista and my parallel port maybe?
