Hello, i have a urc-9960 bj1 (jp1 parallel interface). Now i have a Nikon D40 that i want to control with my remote. The D40 ir remote is sold seperately (ML-L3). The Sony code 0011 is not hardcoded in my remote so i found a Lirc profile dump from somebody which follows:
#
# this config file was automatically generated
# using lirc-0.8.0(serial) on Mon Jul 3 17:45:48 2006
#
# contributed by blux bernd[ AT ] berndlux.de http://berndlux.de
#
# brand: Nikon
# model no. of remote control: ML-L3 for D50/D70/D70s DSLR still Camera
# devices being controlled by this remote: Nikon D70s DSLR still Camera
# I read out the one Button 20 times, for the case that some codes will not work

This is 15 times the single function recorded by lirc (remote shutter activation on the D40). (small timing differences but not critical). Now i don't have the Nikon remote and i ask how can i convert this timing profile into a Learned signal hex code into IR for jp1 upload. I saw something on the web that is was possible but i can't remember.
Thanks, jp1 rules from now on |

Here's an upgrade that you can try where the SHUTTER button is on the POWER key. If you have two remotes, once you've verified that it works, you could try learning it from one remote to the other.
Upgrade Code 0 = 0F D0 (Video Acc/2000) Nikon D40/50/70 Camera (KM v9.10)
FF 00 11 40
End
Upgrade protocol 0 = 01 FF (S3C8+) Nikon D70 Camera (PB v4.00)
43 8C 01 8B 12 84 44 00 02 00 FA 06 C2 00 FA 02
DA 36 B0 03 E8 36 9C 8D 01 46
End
If you still want to use a learned button instead, here's the raw learned data:
03 00 16 00 D3 04 00 FA FF 05 03 E9 36 AF 00 FA
06 D6 00 FA 02 EE 04 13 20
The learned timings come out to:
+2002 -27998 +500 -1500 +500 -3500 +500 -130570
Here's the KM file...

I just heard back from Command88 who tested the upgrade (and the learned signal) and confirmed that both work.
He said that the upgrade should also work for the following Nikon models:
CoolPix 8400, 8800, D40, D40X, D50, D60, D70, D80, N75, N65 series _________________ Rob

Nice!
My wife was pretty happy to see that we could control the camera via the "TV" remote |
