I have a RS 15-2117 and I am learning how to use JP1.

My goal is to be able to program a macro to change the picture settings for color, contrast, and brightness on my 47wx49 TV.

Does anyone know the discrete codes for these settings?

I found the following advanced codes for a Panasonic TV on this site, but when I manually (I'm still not using a JP1 interface, that is) programmed the codes listed for picture settings into my remote and tried to use them on my TV nothing happened. Any ideas? I even tried pulling up the picture menu with my remote first and then using the buttons but I couldn't get a response from the codes (167, 168,169, etc) regardless of what I did. Thanks!

Have you tried the pushbutton method to see if the codes work.

Press the P key followed by the 3 digit EFC.

Yes, that is the method I used (sorry for saying I "programmed them"). No response from the set. I tried pushed them in while watching TV, while already in the "picture menu", and while I had already selected a picture category to change (say, "color") and still got no response.

Try other EFC's just to see if the method works..I've used discrete codes for Pannys with great success. Make sure you select the TV device button first.

I have a Panasonic TV and I entered P018 as I was searching for codes. A message came up that required acknowledgement to continue. I backed out and no harm was done.

I have seen this Printed warning several times and it makes me think that the settings will be reset as soon as the TV gets the command. That wasn't my experience. Does this really happen on some models or older Panasonics? I am just curious and you guys have all the answers.

I don't know about Panasonic specifically, but it has been reported on some other models IIRC.
