As I said here http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=9451&highlight=paralell+parallel+laptop I don't think you can get functionality with the printer port cards/cables. I think you would need a card or cable that emulates the parallel port with ECP or EPP capabilities. Those aren't cheap, and a new (to you) old laptop with a parallel port would cost you about the same, usually.

IMO, that would work, since CardBus is a sort of extension of the ISA bus in a computer, making anything on it a sort of hardware port. |
