hey i am building a htpc(home theater pc) for my living room, i have the Atlas DVR-1054 will i be able to use this for my htpc. and the remote is jp1.3 i have been tryin to find a diagram to make a cable.

While this may be obvious, just to cover all the bases, as long as you install an ir sensor or get an ir remote with a sensor, you should be able to use the Atlas 1054. For example, Firefly PC remote is an RF remote so you can't replace its remote with the Atlas 1054. I'm assuming you already know what software you are going to use to interpret the ir signals to control the computer (ie, MCE, Girder, etc.), and you are asking if the Atlas remote can be used to substitute an OEM remote. If you are asking what software you need to control the computer, that's a longer discussion.
I would also double check with the Atlas remote that you have. This thread might be helpful in identifying your remote. Atlas DVR-1054 would be a JP1 remote, not a JP1.3 remote. If the header in the battery compartment does says JP1.3, you might have a different model. Check the links on this post for instructions on how to make different types of cable. |
