URC-39930RJ0-04 (Dreambox 800) not working (CommSniffer OK)

Post by maxgap »

Assembled Serial JP1.X using BUILDING A JP1.x INTERFACE (revised 6-18-07) Tommy N. Tyler September 15, 2006). Tested it with CommSniffer, all tests passed fine (I've got voltage blink on DTR and received my own messages).

But after connecting the 6-pin connector to the remote it stops functioning (no red light on button pushing), and correspondingly IR711(713) writes "Failed to open JP1.x interface" after pressing download button.

DebugTest Output (JP1.x is attached to COM1 Port):

What is wrong?

P.S. Before I've used JP1 Parallel cable with my old Dreambox 7000 remote + IR711 = It worked fine on that PC.

URC-39930 is a JP1.2 remote so it is probably better to build the JP1.2 interface and not the JP1.X interface. I think there are 3 components that need to be removed(or at least 1 transistor to disconnect that part of the circuit).

Disconnected the 5th PIN and it finally connected!
Now I think that that pin switched remote to the "background" mode, cause after disconnecting the interface I had to remove butteries for 2 seconds to get it back to life.

I think that could be added to FAQ and JP1.x construction could be expanded with manual 5th PIN on\off switcher.
