Hello,

Any news on the RDF for the 8308/8305 european chameleon remotes?

I am considering buying the 8308, but in the latest RemoteChart the remotes are mentioned as not having a JP1 connect interface:

Model Brand Name JP1 Connector Learning Modem upgrade Processor EEPROM IR/RM/KM Support > 2k Support "Protocol/
Extender" Signature Still made /Region Revision Package Similar model JP1er
URC-8305 OFA OfA 5 Kameleon 3rd Generation No?/1.3? Yes Yes S3F80 4k+? 1122???? Yes/Europe
URC-8308 OFA OfA 8 Kameleon 3rd Generation No?/1.3? Yes Yes S3F80 4k+? 1115???? Yes/Europe

Also what kind of JP1 cable would i need to build/buy to connect to this remote?

thx

These are definitely JP1.x remotes so you would need a JP1.x serial cable (with USB adapter, if needed), rather than a traditional JP1 cable.

If you buy these remotes, we will help you make RDFs for them.

I have a 8305, whose circuit board is exposed, and ready to interface with JP1.3.

What is the next step to have a RDF?

Hello,

Here is how I have done.

1. Unscew the battery cover.
2. You need to remove with force and courage the black plastic on the bottom where URC 8308 and CE are printed.
3. Remove 2 screws located at the far sides of right and left beneath the black plastic.
4. Remove lower metal part where OnwForAll is printed. You need to unsolder a small red and black battery connection wires.
5. Slide out upward the main Kameleon body from back metal.

Good luck,

Yesok
