Serial IR Receiver

Hi!

I've a serial IR receiver and I would like to use it to control some programs with a remote control.

The basic function I'll need is when I press any remote button the program transform it in a keyboard stroke using a preassigned key.

Which program do you recommend?

This is the wrong forum for a non JP1 question. Maybe Rob will move the thread. (But that would still be within hifi-remote.com, which may not be the best set of forums for you).

I tried a google search for your device to see if it is intended for use with winLirc, (which is the obvious guess).

I only found one hit. It is in another forum in German, where someone was having trouble using the same device with Lirc. But I can't tell what the trouble was nor whether he got an answer.

You'll probably get better results asking in an Lirc forum and including more info than just a picture about what kind of IR receiver it is.
