Hi All,
We had a lot of discussion going back in this thread:
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8856
regarding coloring buttons on remote - particularly the 8910/9910.
I think I happened upon the perfect solution for this - lure dye. Strange but true. Just brush this stuff on a button and 10 minutes later you have a colored button that looks like it came that way from the factory! Note that I highly suggest taking the remote apart to do this and taking the rubber buttons out to get even coverage and avoid staining the remote. This stuff soaks INTO the rubber - it aint going anywhere.
Here is the product:

And the result! :
Of course now I have enough dye to do about 10000 remotes.. But it was cheap enough
Enjoy fellow OCD remote aficionados.

The green is a little funny looking but it definitely looks like it stained the buttons well. The label is still easily readable too. |

Yep. If anyone else does this - you might consider getting the other green color - pumpkinseed vs. june bug which is what I got.

And for Atlantic salmon, which breaking strain line do you suggest with the 8910 colored hot pink? |

Turns out the bad green was due to not cleaning my brush well enough.
I used cue tips on my subsequent remotes and it looks a lot better (not to mention less mess)

Neat job. Note for anyone coloring their remote to mirror a European model - the original order is Red, Green, Yellow, Blue. |

Will this stuff work on changing black buttons to blue, red, yellow, green? |

No, it is just dye. If there is a clear part of the button in question - it would get dyed, but the black will stay black.
