A veteran Newbee question?

This is the JP1 beginners forum. There's no such thing as a stupid question in here, so post away, but this forum is just for JP1 users and people considering JP1, non-JP1 users please use the appropriate forum above!

A veteran Newbee question?

Post by schmidlapp »

I am not new to this because I have been sucessfully using IR and KM/RM to program my remote for 4 years. But recently I got a new TV so I decided to download the latest and greatest IR and RM programs and start from scratch. The problem is when I load up IR and check the interface a box comes up and says "Failed to open JP1.x interface." The RDF's are recoginized but it won't allow me to download my current codes from my remote which is where I want to start my upgrade. The IR program worked fine the other day before I decided to try the newest version. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you really trying to do a JP1.x? That's a realatively new type of support. If you have been doing this a long time, chances are you want to select JP1.

In IR Select interface off the menu and select the appropriate cable.

Thank You. This is new with this version of IR. I think I'll have another beer and try it again. Once again. Thanks!
