I just purchased a new Sony lcd TV. The discrete 7 video uses a 3rd device code (151) How do I make this work when I can only see the protocol only accepts 2 device codes? I am using the 12/15 Sony protocol. I tried the 12/15/20 but it would not allow Sony 15- device 151 efc 32. Hope this makes sense, just4fn

In what manner do you see Sony15:151 not being assignable in the Sony 12/15/20 Combo protocol??

In the Sony 12/15/20 combo Protocol, you must use OBCs but there is no reason you cannot assign that function (OBC=066).

I have the Sony Bravadi 46 v2500. There is an upgrade in the file section. the Video 7 input does not work. I downloaded Robs Sony Plasma discrete codes where video 7 used a different device code- (151). That worked. I cant incorperate it into the Sony Bravadi upgrade because it isn't device 1 or 164- wide screen uses 164, all other functions use device 1(Sony 12). If I try to manually input for video 7 efc 032 it switch's to Sony 20/device 23. If I change the device back to 151 the efc changes to 24 which is wrong. Does this make since. You can try it by downloading the Bravadi 46 v2500 file. Thanks, just4fn

Links. please?

As you yourself wrote, that upgrade uses Sony 12/15 and you need to use Sony 12/15/20 Combo to build this upgrade. Select the correct protocol and build the upgrade. It will work fine.

You should either switch to the broader 12/15/20 Combo protocol, or you should just add a mini upgrade that uses the 151 device code and keymove the button.

Sounds like you're not reading and following the protocol help carefully. Anyways, you can't have 3 different device numbers in a Sony 12/15 upgrade.

It looks like you missed or ignored

That means the EFC numbers in this executor are not the same as the EFC numbers in the simpler executor. If you're using KM you must switch it to let you type in the OBC number and let it compute the EFC (RM always lets you type in either EFC or OBC and it computes the other. If using RM you should type in OBC numbers because you don't know the correct EFC numbers).

To summarize, you have two basic options (from your past postings, I presume you are using the RS 15-2117. The same applies for the 15-1995, except that the protocol upgrade is bigger for the 1995):

(1) To make a single combo upgrade:
(a) Take your existing Sony 12/15 upgrade;
(b) on the functions sheet, switch it to OBC mode (select the OBC button in box A1);
(c) on the setup sheet, switch the protocol to Sony 12/15/20 combo;
(d) on the functions sheet, add the device numbers (mostly 1's and 164's) to the byte 2 column for every function you've converted/imported;
(e) on the functions sheet, ADD the input 7 function (OBC=66, byte2=151),
(f) make your button assignments and add the resulting protocol and device upgrades to your remote
(g) VOILA!

Up side - an elegant single upgrade for the whole thing.
Down side - eats up a LOT of memory. Almost doubles the device upgrade size (2-byte vice 1-byte functions) and adds a 57-byte protocol upgrade (65-byte for the 1995).

(2) To leave your existing upgrade untouched and supplement with a bare-bones upgrade and keymove as Rob suggests:
(a) open a bare instance of KM;
(b) on the setup sheet, create an upgrade for your 2117 using the Sony 12/15 protocol, entering 151 for device 1 and leaving device 2 blank;
(c) on the functions sheet, create a SINGLE function for input 7. Use OBC 66 and leave byte 2 blank;
(d) on the Keymove sheet, create a keymove on whatever device (I presume "AUDIO") and button (I opted for shift-7) and assign to it your single function, "input 7";
(e) copy/paste the device upgrade to the devices page in IR;
Code:
Upgrade Code 0 = C4 D2 (Misc Audio/1234) keymap-master Device Upgrade (KM v9.07)
 CA 00 01 E9 E9 C0
End

(f) copy/paste the Keymove from KM's setup sheet to the keymove page in IR.
Code:
Upgrade KeyMoves 0 = C4 D2  (Misc Audio/1234)
 9C E3 C4 D2 42«input 7»
End

Up side - MUCH SMALLER device upgrade/protocol upgrade (6-bytes total + a 5-byte keymove)

Down side - not quite as elegant (but it works)

Realize this is an old thread but I just bought a KDL-40V3000 and created an upgrade using the 12/15/20 with all the discrete video input codes here:
