Anyone know the difference between the UEI HTPro and the OFA 9910? They look the same to me but surfremotecontrol.com has them priced a few dollars apart, which seems crazy if they are identical.

They are exactly the same remote, just with different labelling. One is sold by UEI themselves and the other is sold by "One For All". SRC is carrying the UEI version because they've sold out of the OFA version (and OFA is also out of them, so they can't get more).

I don't know why they're priced differently, I can only assume it's because the wholesale prices are different.

The description of the HTPro says that it has a "ruberized finish". Is this like the RS remotes? Do the UEI 8910/9910 have this finish? My 8810 doesn't...

Thanks,

That's correct. The UEI version is actually about $4 more, so we split the difference. Wink

If you've seen (or held) a OFA Kameleon or a Home Theater Master MX-500, it's the same "suede-like" feel as those remotes.

Here's a complete rundown of the differences:

HTPro has a metallic gray finish on top, 9910 is flat silver.
HTPro has a grippy-finished charcoal backside. 9910 is a gray, smooth backside
HTPro's guide navigation buttons are the same finish as the transport control buttons. The 9910's guide navigation buttons are painted silver like the remote is.
All other HTPro buttons are identical to the 9910's.

Happy New Year to All! Mr. Green

Sorry to be so picky but - what is the backlight color of the HTPro?

Thanks,
Chris

Hopefully RED since that's been the most popular light color. What? Don't believe me? Just ask any streetwalker and she'll tell you that they prefer red lights. Now then, I have some ocean-front property in Kansas City I'd like to show you :0)

Mike,

You must have Wyoming confused with MONTANA which is home to "Montana Blondes" also called range maggots or prarie maggots. I think easterners refer to these critters as "sheep". Montana: where men are cowboys and sheep are nervous.
