Help with IRTOOL.exe

Post by mvh_2000 »

I'm trying to work with some Discrete codes for my JP1 remote. I have found some codes but they're in Proto Hex. I'm not sure what to do after I paste the Proto Hex and run decode hex in irtool.exe? What do I do with the results? Is there a "how to" paper on this?

Thanks

If you are not sure what to do with the results, I'm guessing you don't have decodeir.dll in the same folder with irtool. If decodeir isn't in the folder, you get some pretty intimidating looking information from IRtool, but if you have both files in the same folder, the results are pretty straight forward, and any documentation on KM or RM will show you what to do with the info.

We can't tell how far you are getting in the process nor what aspect you don't understand.

If you have the right version of IrTool, and you have decodeir.dll somewhere that IrTool can find it, and the Pronto Hex strings you have are for a protocol decodeir understands, then you should get a pop up dialog with decode information similar to what you saw in another thread from the decodes in IR.exe

Once you have that decode info, you use the same help documents you already saw to turn the information into a new upgrade.
