I have a Radioshack 15-2117 remote and I'm using the extender v3 but keymap master disabled the "Extender" option so it uses key moves for a lot of keys that do not need them. (In fact, I think this extender allows EVERY key to be mapped normally).

Can I somehow force this extender option to be enabled for my remote control?

I don't believe the extender changes which buttons can be in a particular device type (CBL, VCR, TV, etc.) button mapping. It does allow assignment to buttons which would otherwise not be assignable under the base remote functionality, but that is using keymoves or macros.

Right, that's what I'm talking about...

For example, the +100 button is usually assigned via a key move, but I believe this can be assigned directly since I'm using an extender.

However, keymap master won't allow me the option Sad

As was previously answered, the extender does NOT allow you to program buttons "directly" that required keymoves without the extender. They will STILL require keymoves. The extender allows more buttons to "exist" with the creation of x-shifted and other phantoms, but you must still use keymoves to assign functions to them. KM does not differentiate between extender and non-extender remotes (with 1 or 2 exceptions, like the 6131, because they use a different keymove format in the extended vs. unextended remotes.) That check box is meaningless for 99% of the remotes out there.

In KM you can use the Key Moves sheet to assign functions to grayed out buttons on the Buttons sheet. Select "(upgrade)" as the Bound Device and the desired button for the function you want. Copy the resulting Key Move Code from the Setup sheet and use the [Import] button on IR's Key Moves tab.
