I've just posted two new files to the Hardware folder. The first is "An Improved USB Interface for JP1", and supercedes the previous instructions dated 12/06/03. The second is "How to Upgrade a USB Interface to the Improved Design", and shows how to modify all versions of scratch-built and purchased USB interfaces. If your USB interface isn't broke, I recommend you don't fix it. But if you're having problems uploading or downloading, this information should be of help. This interface is my design (the original wasn't) and I'll stand behind it.
IMPORTANT: Anyone having a FILEBUG interface should try the new IR.exe ver 4.30 (or whatever version of 5.xx the changes are incorporated into) BEFORE concluding that their interface may need a hardware upgrade.

Just FYI, the revised 4.02 (called 4.03) is not yet available, nor is an updated 5.xx _________________ Rob

Rob, I just tried out ver 5.05 posted in the Yahoo files section and it appears to have the dual reset update in it. Can you, Mark, or e34m5 confirm this? Thanks!

I'm sorry in advance for this question.
I can't find this file. I've checked the yahoo group where posts used to be, but didn't see it.
Thanks for any help.

Assuming you are looking for the interface design documents they are not in the hardware folder they are in the "Interface Design" folder at the Yahoo jp1 file area.
If you are looking for the IR support for USB it is in the latest version of IR in the required tools section. _________________ Nils

Just an FYI:
The 6-pin female IDC connector from Mouser that Tommy referenced in his document is now obsolete. It was a lead component. It has now been replaced by a lead-free component.
Replacement parts are as follows:
649-71600-006LF
649-71600-306LF |
