|
|
I built a remote for my Slingbox to control my DSM-320 and everything works great however i have a problem with the arrow keys. Every time I press an arrow key it sends two commands. It's a real issue because I'm unable to reach all of my content as it will skip over every other folder or media file in a list. Is there anyway someone could point me in the right direction on how to resolve this?
All of the other keys seem to be sending a single "click".
Let me know if you need the code files or if there is simply a setting I need to change when I compile the RMDU file that I export out to PL and JU.
I've tried changing the IR blaster speed from slow, medium and fast on the Slingbox configuration page but this doesn't seem to make a difference so I believe the issue is related to my RMDU file however I'm new to this so I don't have a clue where to check.

What is a DSM-320 and which upgrade are you using to control it? _________________ Rob

You can post files in the diagnosis area and someone will probably take a look.

Do you have a JP1 remote? If so, does the upgrade do the same thing when exported as an upgrade for your remote? |

Thank you for your quick response. I'm referring to my D-link Medialounge DSM-320. I'm not sure what you mean by "upgrade". I found an rmdu file that someone had built for the DSM-320 which i modified then exported to a .PL and .JU file. I assume I should be able to gather that information for you from the JP1 software. _________________ Snap that Joe! |

No, I do not have a JP1 remote. I have the remote that came with my Medialounge and that one works perfectly with the hardware. I only get the bad behaviour when I remote it via the Slingbox.
I'll post the RMDU and PL and JU files in the diagnosis area as you suggested. _________________ Snap that Joe! |

I have posted the files in the diagnosis area under subject: d-link dsm-320 remote files

I took a look at your upgrade. It looks like it is based off the existing one here:
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=1553
I know for some devices they use NEC1 for single press buttons and NEC2 for repeating buttons. That is one thing you can try, change NEC1 to NEC2 and see if the arrows work. The other buttons might then not work correct, but this is just for diagnosis.
I also looked at the other dlink 320 upgrades and they look slightly different.
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=search
Search for "dlink"
You can try those other upgrades (just enter the OBCs for the arrow buttons in your existing upgrade) to see if that makes a difference.
It would be easiest to debug if you could learn the arrow buttons on your existing remote and upgrade the learned file, but you said you don't have a JP1 remote so that would be hard for you to do. With the learned functions we can see the exact IR your original remote is sending and compare to what the upgrade is sending.
Maybe Rob or one of the other experts can figure out what is going on just based on your description. |

Thank you for your help. I'll try changes you have suggested and see if that resolves the issue. _________________ Snap that Joe! |
