Ah yes, how could I have forgotten Mr. Elliot Axel, another "one of a kind".

Seeing as how we're going down memory lane, let me introduce you to Mr. Cico Buff from Remote Central...

http://www.remotecentral.com/cgi-bin/mboard/rc-one4all/thread.cgi?1702

And here's one where Cico and James Gammel start getting into it...

No...

don't let it end...

I actually think this thread should be the beginning of a whole new section of the forum - a kind of "Hall of Shame"

Maybe the section should be called

I am not an idiot
?

and moderated by GLT, to whom we are all in enormous debt for starting this hugely entertaining diversion...

NO! NO! NO! I promise we'll be good!

I still wince thinking about those times, wondering if his next post just *mite* be the one where he learns to spell "might" correctly. Rolling Eyes

Next thing you'll want him to be able to spell discrete (discrete).

(Edit: Well I'll be da**ed, they are both words:
discrete: 1 : having or showing discernment or good judgment in conduct and especially in speech : PRUDENT; especially : capable of preserving prudent silence.
Discrete: 1 : constituting a separate entity : individually distinct <several discrete sections.)

See, this forum IS educational!

I'm so sorry (sort of) for starting this thread. It just proves you shouldn't post early in the morning after a "good" night.

I have to agree with the above, Rob should win awards for his patience, I have been truly amazed. But even with Rob such is not always the case as shown in this thread: http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8061

Where he may of said: "And I'd like to thank the 30 or 40 people who have sent me copies of it via email also reporting it as spam, as id I don't get enough already."

"Plus, I've now received 70 emails from kind souls letting me know about the spam."

Hmmm...maybe just a little sarcastic?

Ok ok...

That was all in fun, as is this thread. My point was that I have NEVER seen ANYPLACE that has such a high percentage of people that come with problems, and leave with the problems solved. It's amazing, It's admirable. It is, predictable.

I use my JP1 remotes every waking hour, every day. Please don't tell me what is done here is not important.

My very sincere thanks to all involved here.

GLT

Ah yes, I deliberately laid that trap for him. Right after the IconRemote came out there were instantly lots of posts from people saying how much they love it and others asking for information about it. Trouble was, the remote was so new to market that there's no way that many people could even have heard of it let alone already own it and love it, so of course, these were X10 employees spamming the forums. This particular guy posted a "do you have any info" post in one forum and a "I love it" post in another and I caught him doing it. He shut up pretty quickly after that and all the Icon posts dried up pretty soon too.

Well, I think it's the least you can expect, really, given the exorbitant salaries we pay these layabouts.

If they want continued use of the JP1 company jet, then they need to get their fingers out, and keep them out...

I strongly encourage anyone who catches people like Rob slacking again, or ignoring advice, or (god forbid) laying traps for innocent, supernaturally early adopters of yet to be released equipment, not to mention leaping into things he knows nothing about with random, ill-thought out advice - to inform whoever is in charge of this band of idiots immediately, so that action can be taken.

We need to stop the rot - now...

There was a funny shimmering, as I read that, and an eerie hint of the Twilight Zone theme in the distance.

Almost as though this thread had come full circle.

It's deja-vu - all over again...
