Error when using RM to open a KM upgrade file

Post by rem »

I'm a novice/rusty JP1 user.
I don't have Excel, so I can't use KM.
I usually use RM to create or load (KM/RM) upgrades files.
I have a UK URC-7544 (E040E040) and wish to add PaceTwinPVR 1323 functionality to it.

I'm trying to use RM (1.78) to load the KM file PaceTwinPVR_1323.txt
https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... ile_id=762

I get the following error when trying to load the file-
Import Failure
No protocol found with name= "pid: 00 5D" for remote "URC-6131(Old) PVR Remote Extender1 2K".

I'm not exactly sure why I'm getting this error.
It looks like it I need the 005D protocol, but I expected RM to just show it at the
Upgrade Protocol Code in addition to the Device Upgrade Code.

Is there a work around I can use?

Can I say a big Thank You to you both. Also for the extremely quick response.

I thought I was doing something wrong.
I've uploaded the RM update and will let you know how I get on tommorrow - the Pace is not with me at the moment.

EDIT.
Tried it today. The fixes work brilliantly.
Thanks again.

Was the problem with the version of KM used to create the file
or the version of RM used to open the file
or something else? :)

The first problem with the original file was that it had been transmitted as binary rather than text, so the line breaks weren't working (they typically show up as black squares). I fixed this by opening (and re-saving) the file using Wordpad rather than Notepad. However, even after that it still wouldn't open in RM so I opened it using the latest KM and re-saved it, after that it opened in RM ok.
