I read this post some time ago but it only just rang a bell. One of the kids' toys - a Bob The Builder Scoop (the yellow excavator one) - has a small IR remote with only four buttons. The kids claim it doesn't always work correctly and I can't now find the toy to verify this but, anyway, I found the remote this evening, put new batteries in it and learned the buttons. IR reports Sony7 and the values seem different (by 1 OBC) from one button press to the next.
The buttons are arranged in a diamond pattern with a round button at top (presume Go), square bottom (Stop), left arrow on left and right on right:
IR file upload here:

Mapped in the IR file as follows (learned each three times):
Code: |
Up - top (round)
Down - bottom (square)
Right - left
Left - left
2 - top
8 - bottom
6 - right
4 - left
stop - bottom
ffwd - right
rew - left
rec - top

Not looking for any solutions (can't find the toy, might be long gone) but just wondered if it sheds any light on this protocol. |
