Gateway or Liteon DVD+R Recorders

Post by SBM911 »

Anyone yet have the codes /KM for these hot sellers this Christmas (under$300 machines).

Just got the Liteon 5001 from CompUSA which is the same machine as the Gateway DVD recorder.

No, you are the first. Time to get good at pressing 9-7-5. :)

You have company; I just received a Zenith DVT312 and I am doing the device upgrade for it now. (After testing, it will be in the device upgrade/home theater folder.) Zenith products are pretty crappy I have discovered. I had to buy a separate remote a/v selector switch as this piece of crap has as close to no inputs and no outputs as you can get and still be marketable. (it has a red right/white left aux input, speaker outputs, and a yellow video output, and that is all it has, I can't freaking believe it.)

Say, what is the Nec1x protocol? Anything special I need to worry about? With device 44 and sub-device 44, I looked in devices.xls and devices4.xls and did not see anything else even remotely close to it.

We invented the name NECx after devices and devices4 were created, so it wouldn't be in there. Back then the decode routines couldn't tell the difference between NEC and NECx.

NECx (1 and 2) are mainly Samsung protocols, but they show up in a few other brands.

NECx1:44.44 is a new one. NECx1:45.45 is a DVD sold under several brand names (Samsung, LG, Goldstar and I think others). But for 44.44 I think you're on your own. No built in setup codes and no CCF files.

I just updated devices4 to show NECx1 and NECx2 for the relevant setup codes.
