DSM Not Working!

Post by yesok »

Hello,

I am testing Release version of URC-9960B01 Extender.
I have difficulty working with DSM feature.

Could you please have a look on the uploaded IR file(see https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=4400), and tell me what to look for?

I *HAVE* to get my taxes done this weekend so I'll probably not have a chance to look into it in detail (if it's a bug in the extender)

If someone else looks at how you defined the DSM's and finds something that would help. If it still is an issue, I'll take a look at the code in the extender next week to see if I introduced a bug between the betas when I fixed something else.

There is no DSM defined in this IR file, as far as I can see.

Are you seeing the special protocols tab in IR?

Did you construct the DSM?

Did you click on OK?

The AUX-Shift-Power DSM looks like it should work but the one that is AUX TV one may not work and may be getting in the way of the TV power one.

Try removing the AUX TV DSM and change the O_AUX to X_AUX in the LKP's and see if that works.

Vicky - Do you have the RDF for this extender in your RDF folder?

I'll bet that you have the older version of the RDF. I recently (with v37) moved the start of the advance codes from $400 to $600 and I bet if you look in that area of memory, you'll see the adv codes. You should upgrade your RDF's as well as the extender (you probably have v36, look at the byte at $FF in the EEPROM)

It looks like you may be using the wrong RDF for the version of the extender that you are using.

You ARE using v37 of the extender, you can find this in the byte at $FF in the EEPROM. I looked at your file and confirmed.

But, you appear to be using the v36 version of the RDF as all of your advance code entries start at $401 in the EEPROM and not at $600. IR gets these addresses from the RDF.

Please check to see that the RDF that you are using has the AdvanceCode section starting at $600 and not at $401.

As an aside, I did put my debug code back into the DSM code and found that the DSMs are getting located and loaded as expected with this version of the extender.

hope that helps

you may not be using the latest RDF if you can see the special protocols in that IR file. Extender v37 has the advance code start at $600, extender v36 has the advance code start at $401

I switched RDF's so I could see them. Didn't think to check if he was on the latest and just assumed he was on the earlier without checking the version.

With proper RDF file version the IR file shows NO DSM definition.
