Doubt how to use Protocol Builder

Post by malima »

Please, I have a cable receiver with a similar NEC1 protocol, but the frequency is 40KHz, I follow the PB manual, but I have a lot of doubts.
1) The signal structure is: dev-sub-cmd-!cmd, the S3C8+ don't have this kind of structure.
2) I put in the diagnose area, the files I did with, the learned keys, Codes1, Codes3, and Codes4.

Here's the PB file that I created for you earlier...

PB doesn't have an option to do dev-sub-cmd-!cmd so you have to do it yourself using assembler.

Rob,

Where I put the sub device address (123), in the KM, ? I tried the "Device 2", and I can see didn't work right. I have two RS15-2103, I'm comparing the original signal learned, and the up-grade (learned).

Thank very much.

Why not open the KM file that I created for you earlier to see how I did it.

Rob,

Thank you for your patience, I saw you put in the "Device 2", I did the up-grade you send me, and compare with the learned, I can see the values is very similar, I don't know why is not working, see bellow the values.

Key1
Learned from the original remote control:
+8600 -4300 +550 -1600 +550 -550 +550 -1600 +550 -550 +550 -550 +550 -550 +550 -550 +550 -1600 +550 -1600 +550 -1600 +550 -550 +550 -1600 +550 -1600 +550 -1600 +550 -1600 +550 -550 +550 -1600 +550 -1600 +550 -1600 +550 -550 +550 -550 +550 -550 +550 -550 +550 -1600 +550 -550 +550 -550 +550 -550 +550 -1600 +550 -1600 +550 -1600 +550 -1600 +550 -550 +550 -37000 +8600 -2200 +550 -92000

Learned from the 15-2103, with the upgrade
+9002 -4498 +550 -1700 +550 -574 +550 -1700 +550 -574 +550 -574 +550 -574 +550 -574 +550 -1700 +550 -1700 +550 -1700 +550 -574 +550 -1700 +550 -1700 +550 -1700 +550 -1700 +550 -574 +550 -1700 +550 -1700 +550 -1700 +550 -574 +550 -574 +550 -574 +550 -574 +550 -1700 +550 -574 +550 -574 +550 -574 +550 -1700 +550 -1700 +550 -1700 +550 -1700 +550 -574 +550 -40514 +9002 -2266 +550 -96716

original
1 = +550 -1600
0 = +550 -550
1st leadin = +8600 -4300
2nd leadin = +8600 -2200
1st leadout = +550 -37000
2nd leadout = +550 -92000

rob
1 = +550 -1700
0 = +550 -574
1st leadin = +9002 -4498
2nd leadin = +9002 -2266
1st leadout = +550 -40514
2nd leadout = +550 -96716

It looks like you could try to ...
1) reduce the 1-off time by 100,
2) reduce the leadin-on time by 400, and
3) reduce the leadout time by 3500.

Rob,

I did your suggestion in PB, and copy (button Copy)/ paste in your original KM (cell H4), I see the upgrade lost the sub-device address. I did something wrong? See bellow the "key1" value I learned.

+9002 -4498 +550 -1700 +550 -574 +550 -1700 +550 -574 +550 -574 +550 -574 +550 -574 +550 -1700 +550 -574 +550 -1700 +550 -574 +550 -1700 +550 -1700 +550 -1700 +550 -1700 +550 -574 +550 -1700 +550 -1700 +550 -1700 +550 -574 +550 -574 +550 -574 +550 -574 +550 -1700 +550 -574 +550 -574 +550 -574 +550 -1700 +550 -1700 +550 -1700 +550 -1700 +550 -574 +550 -40514 +9002 -2266 +550 -96716

Thanks,

Rob,

I did the up grade protocol, it look very similar the original, but it lost the sub-device address, in the KM I tried to put the sub-device address in Device1, changed to Device2, changed to Raw Fixed Data, but don't work, bellow I put the learned signal, for the key1, without the sub-device address.

+8600 -4514 +550 -1602 +550 -574 +550 -1602 +550 -574 +550 -574 +550 -574 +550 -574 +550 -1602 +550 -574 +550 -1602 +550 -574 +550 -1602 +550 -1602 +550 -1602 +550 -1602 +550 -574 +550 -1602 +550 -1602 +550 -1602 +550 -574 +550 -574 +550 -574 +550 -574 +550 -1602 +550 -1602 +550 -1602 +550 -574 +550 -1602 +550 -1602 +550 -1602 +550 -1602 +550 -574 +550 -36916 +8600 -2280 +550 -93636

Rob,

Do you have the PB file, with the up grade bellow?

Upgrade protocol 0 = 01 5A (S3C8+) NEC1 40k (PB v4.00)
40 84 21 8B 12 CF 4D 08 08 01 18 01 06 01 18 03
39 D2 DC 11 94 08 B6 20 11 E4 05 06 60 06 8D 01
46
End

You send me it in a KM file, in the link: http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=4140

I tried a lot of ways to do a protocol upgrade, and don't have success. This up grade you did, is the best, and maybe with some adjust will work. I don't give up yet!

Thanks,

Rob,

I had success to do the protocol upgrade, I put the KM file (Cable_Receiver_DV9800_NET_Brazil.txt) in the cable upgrade section.

Thank you for your help.
