I just bought a RadioShuck 15-2117 and have been searching FAQs and posts on how to program it. I came across some mentions of "extender" and "extender2" but am unable to find any basic info on what these are. |

These programs allow you to do radical, wonderful, amazing things on your remote. These include:
--LKP: allow you to make keys do one thing for a short press and another thing for a long press. Like power might toggle one device on/off if short pressed, but turn off every device in the room if long pressed.
--ToadTog: turn your remote into a frog. No wait, thats not right. This protocol allows you to create discrete on and off commands (using a toggle power command) even though your device does not have a disrete on and off command.
--Get rid of memory wasted on things you wont use to give you more memory for device upgrades and protocols.
--and more..
If interested, check out the files section (click in my sig line) under extenders. Dont forget to make or buy a JP1 cable. _________________ -Steve

You can make an extender from a broom handle and a little electrical tape. I was gonna make one, but that would mean my neighbor lady would be out her major mode of transportation, and I sure don't want to keep her home one second more than necessary.

Jim | Jim,
Your response is too technical for me. Dumb it down so I can understand all the technical terms. On a different note, so this is how you got 300+ posts! Just kidding! Congrats on the 300+ mark! I hope to be there someday!
