backlight on the 8910

Post by nikeman »

Ok, I have noticed that the light on the remote doesnt cut on unless you puch the light button which is small and at the bottom left of the remote. I was wondering if I added a macro to the button to every other button on the remote button list if the light would always come on when i push a button?

Once you press the light button, it should set the remote so that the light will turn on whenever you press any key. If you press it again it will stay off from then on. If you also reprogram the remote using JP1 cable, it will reset the light setting so that it turns off.

The LIGHT button toggles the light feature, so when you press it for the first time you are turning on the light feature, when you press it again you are turning the light feature off.

With the light feature on, everytime you press ANY button, the backlight will come on, so no macro required.

The backlight was designed kinda goofy on the 8811/8910 family of remotes in that the light actually goes off when you press a button and comes back on when you release the button.
