I recently bought a samsung dvd recorder (dvd-r122) without a remote, hoping I would be able to use one of my "one for all" controllers.
I found that code DVD/0573 worked for basic player functions (and importantly menu, so in a long winded way all functions could be accessed) but no recorder specific functions were enabled.
Searching further, I found nothing on any of the one for all sites, nor did I find any pronto files, I did find the setup advanced code on this site, but no other recorder specific functions.
Eventually I went for the brute force method (searching from 0 to 255), searching for advanced codes on the code dvd/0573, not really expecting it to work as it seemed to be more for players. However I was absolutely delighted when I found the record function.
I would now like to know how I can add my findings to the list of advanced codes on this site (perhaps the site owner or others check them first?). I suspect the codes would work for a large number of samsung dvd recorders.
I include some of them here for now anyway.
I also wrote up the other advanced functions already listed, but with numbers from 0 to 255 instead of higher ones, but will not include them here yet, just the key recorder functions I found:
RECORD - 024
CHANNEL UP - 023 (note this and channel down are different to the channel up/down already listed on this site, and actually change the dvd recorder's tuner up and down channels instead of track skipping )
CHANNEL DOWN - 025
RECORD MODE (i.e. xp/sp/lp/ep) - 027 and 107 (think they are same)
TV/DVD (switch scart signal on off I think) - 033
INPUT SELECT (av1/av2/av3/tuner) - 213 [this has been edited, I originally put 113 which was wrong]
PERHAPS DANGEROUS CODE!, seems to activate some kind of test - 238
LAST MARK/CUE (not sure how this works) - 247
PS, when searching I didn't use the smart method suggested by John Wasser et al by finding the OFCs as I thought it was too complicated (it might be OK if there was a program written - that Wasser seemed to hint at in his doc - that would give you the suggested EFC codes to try once you found the first EFC/OFC). Anyway, it took me two hours to search through all the codes so didn't think it was too bad (was able to watch TV while doing it), could probably do it in under an hour if I really went for it, but the snag is those codes where your equipment has to be in a certain state for the function to work.
