EDIT: Ignore this thread. This thread is of no use to anyone. I solved my problem, by putting the correct TV code in for my system. I had been using a leftover Sony code on my Sanyo tv. (FWIW... I switched from a JP1 remote to a Harmony about two yrs ago... now I'm switching back.)

Sorry to waste everyone's time.

===============================

Could someone please point out my mistake?

I am not getting Volume Punch Through when in DVD mode on my 15-2116, despite the following:

MySystemVolumeDevice = TV
VPTStatus = on
VPTDevice = tv
TVVPT = on
VCRVPT = on
CABVPT = on
SATVPT = on
CDVPT = on
DVDVPT = on
AUXVPT = on
AudioVPT = on

Doesn't the above mean that I volume up/down should control the tv volume regardless of the mode I am in? What am I overlooking?[/b]

Do you have a DVD code assigned to the DVD button? If you have a mis-match (eg, you have a SAT code assigned to the DVD button, etc) VPT won't work.

I have DVD set to type DVD and code 0539, which is one of the two codes for Philips DVD players (the other being 0503). I have a Philips model DVP-642 DVD player.

On further examination...

I'm not getting VPT in any mode except TV and MySystem modes. In case it matters, here are my primary settings:

TV = TV mode = 0000 (Sanyo HT-30744)
VCR = VCR mode = 0032 (unused)
CBL = CBL mode = 0476 (unused)
SAT = SAT mode = 0392 (unused)
CD = CD mode = 0072 (unused)
DVD = DVD mode = 0539 (Philips DVP-642)
AUX = VCR mode = 0614 (ReplayTV 5040)
AUDIO = RCVR mode = 1074 (JVC RX-809V)
MYSYS = TV mode = 0047

Are you using TV/0047 for anything or is the Sony TV/0000 assigned to TV your TV device? If you're just using the Sony, try changing MYSYS to TV/0000 and see what happens.
