Double/Tripple IR emitter for RS 15-2117

Post by jayerndl »

I want to use the RS 15-2117 to control multiple devices. I can't use the "blaster" for my application, I have to use the IR emitter. The one that comes with the 15-2117 is only a single. It also uses a samller plug than other "standard" emitters. Are there any multihead emitters for this remote or can I use a plug converter and use a standard double/tripple emitter? Thanks.

Just FYI, the cable that comes with the 15-2117 is called the "IR Blaster".

I don't see any reason why you couldn't cut off the plug from a standard double or tripple head blaster cable and replace it with one that is the correct size for the 15-2117.

There's a write up on the 9910 RF base modification by Tommy Tyler here:

From looking at the pictures of 15-2117's RF base, it looks like it's the same unit as the 9910's base.
