How to extend IR pulse to 10 seconds

SlingBox Pro

JU (IR blaster 2.0)

I need to keep a key down for 10 seconds to activate a function. All I can achieve is a series of short pulses. These do not activate the feature that i am after. It appears that the signal is sent after the mouse click or when I lift my finger off the associated key on the keyboard. Is there a 2-key approach that will increase the period of the signal being sent or is there a different approach to achieve this?
