1. Device: Sony dvpcx985v
2. Type of device: 400 disc changer
3. Year: 2004
4. UEI Remote model: urc 6131,Atlas 5device, usb uirt
5. Do you have a JP1 cable? yes
6. Still have original remote? yes
7. Checked the file section? yes
8. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)? yes
9. Partially working setup code? no
10. Learning remote question?no
I looked at this site http://www.hifi-remote.com/sony/ and it shows there is a code for DVD changers for the folder all, folder dvd, folder cd,folder A,etc.
I'd like to use the "folder dvd" code but it doesn't work.My original remote doesn't have this code so I don't know if the changer is designed to work with it. |

I did see that file and I do use some of the codes but I didn't see the one for the 65 OBC.Are you saying I can just add that number and it should work? |

Ok I made a new entry with OBC 65 selected device 26 sub 98 protocol 20.Uploaded to remote and it sends the same signal as Folder all.I need the Folder DVD code.Could it be my changer is not programmed to work with that code? |

I would make an upgrade that includes all of the folder OBCs (ie, 65 thru 70) then test them all to see what they all do.
It's rare for Sony to use different OBCs for the same function in different devices though, so if 65 replicates 64 on your device, you're probably out of luck. _________________ Rob

Ok thanks.I'll give it a try sometime during the week.
I'm wondering what changer that code was originally for. |

Well it appears i'm out of luck.I made an upgrade for OBC 65 using the 26.98 and 26.73 device types. My player doesn't respond to the OBC 65 device 26.98 but it does respond to the OBC 65 device 26.73 which causes it to select disc 2.
The OBC 64 for device 26.98 selects Folder all(which I knew/assumed)
and the OBC 64 for device 26.73 selects disc 1.
I did the same for OBC 66-70 and got the same results. The 26.73 device selects a disc while the 26.98 does nothing.(Actually only OBC64-68 device 26.73 selects discs 1-5 respectively, while 69&70 do nothing)
I guess there is nothing I can do,my changer doesn't have the programming to respond to the code I want. |
