The illuminated buttons on a Kameleon remote are NOT software-controllable, so you're stuck with whatever is available for each device-type.

I'm pretty sure you can learn to ANY available (illuminated) button on the 8206.

thanks captain

i have pretty good english skills compared to normal finnish guy, but words and things on forum are "hacker" vocabulary (that might go wrong).

So you saved me a lot of hassle, thus being fairly satisfied with my kameleon except those factory set illuminated buttons..

gues i have to move on to harmony series or something

I think I'm correct in saying that MOST (not ALL) users of this forum are not the biggest fans of the Kameleons. Amongst the PRIMARY reasons for this dislike is the need to LOOK at the remote to use it, and the preponderance of opinions is that one should be able to use a remote by FEEL.

With THAT in mind, the customizability of any number of JP1 remotes OTHER than Kameleons is judged by many (again, not ALL) to be far superior to that provided by the Prontos or Harmonys - but you make your own choices.

A properly programmed (with extender) 20-30 dollar URC 6131 or 8910 can outperfom that 100-1000 dollar Harmony or Pronto in my opinion. Don't dismiss these remotes just because they're inexpensive.
