I am not sure where to post this as I am new to the board but after a search I found several refferences to this remote here as well as info on resets so here goes
I recently bought a "new" Motorola DCP501 and after 6 months the remote seems to have "bit the dust" - I have seen a post that suggested removing batteries and the light would blink twice to allow reprogramming but none of the keys seem to respond
I would hate to spend more then the unit to buy a remote - and I cannot find control codes for Motorola anywhere
Any suggestions at all would be appreaciated

You can control most Motorola STBs using CBL/0476 with "One For All" remotes, so if you do decide to ditch the remote, an OFA remote should work.

Re: Motorola DCP501
False economy. If the unit means that much to you, then it wouldn't hust to spend a bit to get a remote for it, Of course, there is a practical limit in everything, and you can probaly fine an OFA remote works fine for it.Vellox wrote: I would hate to spend more then the unit to buy a remote - and I cannot find control codes for Motorola anywhere
If 'General Instruments' or 'GI' is listed, that code will generally work with any remote. Motorola bought them a few years ago.
