Multiple Motorola DTC 6412

Post by TheBobman »

YIKES! I just jumped ship on DTV to comcast and I have run in to a snag. The DTV tivo boxes could be individually addressed so each remote would talk to each box. I have two boxes in one rack feeding three zones. Is there any such unit code or prefix code for the moto box? If not, are there RS232 discrete codes so I could control through computer and something like girder? Please help!

Motorola DVR's only have one code (usually 0476 or 1376, both are the same, but slightly different mapping.) There is an IR jack on the back, but it's for a IR blaster that could control a VCR or similar (rarely supported.) Otherwise, the only way to talk to it is through the IR receiver on the left edge of the front display.

Comcast is supposedly coming out with some Panasonic DVR's soon, but probably not until next year at the earliest, and even then, only in areas that are updated to the OCAP communications standard.
