Hello,

I have an Emerson EVS4000 remote control A/V 4-way switch box, trying to find or figure out how to make an upgrade file for it. I'm using the IR program version 3.22Beta with DecodeIR version 2.05.

The only info on the Yahoo group and this JP1 group I found that mentioned the protocol it found (see below) was at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jp1/message/25865 This may be for a similar device, but the data detected was different? Not sure if it was any help.

The remote for this device has 4 buttons: 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 - to select A/V inputs. I learned the remote on my RS 15-2117 and obtained the following (confusing?) results...

Button "1"
Protocol = "?Archer" OBC=14 HexCmd=88 EFC=078
Sent Repeatedly:
+20 -3142 +20 -4596 +20 -4596 +20 -4596 +20 -3142 +20 -9890

Button "2"
Protocol = "?Archer" OBC=22 HexCmd=90 EFC=142
Sent Repeatedly:
+20 -3142 +20 -4596 +20 -4596 +20 -3142 +20 -4596 +20 -9890

Button "3"
Protocol = "?Archer" OBC=10 HexCmd=A8 EFC=079
Sent Repeatedly:
+20 -3142 +20 -4596 +20 -3142 +20 -4596 +20 -3142 +20 -9890

Button "4"
Protocol = "?Archer" OBC=18 HexCmd=B0 EFC=143
Sent Repeatedly:
+20 -3142 +20 -4596 +20 -3142 +20 -3142 +20 -4596 +20 -9890

Any thoughts on figuring out what the "?Archer" protocol uses and without any device codes detected? I tried to cross-reference the OBC's and EFC's with several protocol versions in the keymap-master-v7.56 spreadsheet with no luck. Anybody know what protocol it really is?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

Todd

I just posted a device upgrade at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jp1/files/3.%20Device%20Codes/Misc/Emerson-switch-km. Why don't you see if that works.

This device seems to have been removed, moved or re-named or something, because I can't find it now. Any ideas?

Since there are just 4 buttons involved though, I'd really like to just "learn" this device, however for some reason I can't get my 2116 to learn this. Actually, it says "success" when I attempt to learn it, but the learned buttons don't work with the switch. Any idea why I can't sucessfully learn this remote??? I've tried doing it from different distances, and tried keeping it away from other interferrence while learning. I haven't tried analyzing what was learned yet.

EDIT: After posting the above, I happened to think that the batteries on my 2116 were getting weak. It turns out that with new batteries the learned buttons actually worked. Weird. The remote worked for all the other devices stored on it, but those 4 learned buttons wouldn't work????
I'm still interested in the missing file though. Seems like I actually had that file at one time, but lost it.

Thanks.

It was moved to the Video Selector section, and then it was copied to the Video Seletor section here. Here's a link:

Oh, OK. THanks guys.

I knew that the forum moved over here from Yahoo, but I thought that the Yahoo files section was still current. Thanks for the info. I'll check there.
