Got my cable and it's not working for me

Post by Jerry98vert »

I bought the JP1 usb cable for my URC-8910 from DIY Gadget.

I downloaded there USB driver and all the IR.exe, device code and setup code from there web site.

So I install the USB driver and that was fine. Unzipped all the other stuff and that went fine.

Made a directory called C:\JP1 and dropped all the zip files in that directory. I open IR.exe verision 5.05, I go to "File" go to " Set RDF path and it goes to the directory where the IR.exe is.

Then I hit the download from the remote, then it says ready to download, I say of then I get a message saying "no response from interface, make sure that the interface is connected to the PC and you've specified the correct port"

The cable is plugged into the remote and the PC usb. It's a Dell with SP2. What am I doing wrong, thanks.

It does not sound like you specified the USB cable in IR since it is giving you the parallel port message.

Also, 5.05 is an old version of IR so go ahead and get the new version which I think is 6.15

Thanks I just installed IR.exe 6.20 and changed the interface to usb and it's saying "SDA is being held low make sure batteries are installed in the remote" and yes there is batteries in the remote. Man one by one, maybe I can get this.

That could also be that the batteries are to powerful so try reversing one battery and then download. Don't forget to turn the battery back around soon.
