Bought a new remote>>>>just getting going

Post by 1hogarth1 »

I just bought a One for all 8811 that is JP1 complient and learnable.....I have 4 learnable keys on it....I have an Ariza satellite remote that has no codes for it....My goal is to get it on slingbox....In a nutshell, does this mean I'm gonna have to copy the entie remote 4 buttons at a time, save them all then transfer them to slingbox software...Eventually I have a coolsat pro 4000 and a Viewsat that I'm gonna try to get to slingbox. Is that all a learnable remote is good for...one or two buttons....is it gonna be possible to do this two or three buttons at a time.....

You can learn onto almost any key, not just onto the four "learning" keys. The total capacity for learning is limited. Capacity depends on the device you're learning from and on how well you do the learning process. But it almost certainly has room for over twenty signals per batch.

I don't see that sort of info in the above tips page, so I don't see how those tips are relevent to this thread.

Did you try the upgrade mentioned in your other thread?

I would expect you would try that before buying the 8811 and JP1 cable.
