Not Found?

Post by psicard »

I used RM (and KM in different attempts) to create an upgrade to add a new CABLE device code. First, I downloaded the Solidtek keyboard V6 upgrade from the files section here. Then I assigned keys - no macros, etc. in RM. Next, I created a new device in IR.EXE following the newbie directions.
When I upload the upgrade to my remote (URC-8910), the CABLE device code is not set to the new code. If I try to set the device code manually on the remote to the new code, "NOT FOUND" flashes on the LCD screen.
If I download from the remote, the new CABLE device code is listed in the "Devices" tab of IR.

I can't find any similar problems in the forums, so I'm not sure where to start troubleshooting. I assume the Solidtek upgrade I downloaded has been well vetted and is not the problem. I can create a new IR.EXE file and download the contents of my remote - so I know the remote and my PC are communicating correctly.
Suggestions?

Thanks,
Paul

A couple of things to check.

1) Make sure that IR is set for the correct remote before you load the upgrade from RM or KM by doing the file/new option and selecting the correct RDF.

2) Make sure after you load the upgrade in RM that you then change the remote to your remote.

Also, if there's a protocol included in the upgrade, make sure that you copied it over to IR.

Rather than have us guess as to what you did wrong, you should post a copy of your IR file in the Diagnosis Area (and post a link to it here). I bet most of us will spot the error in seconds.
