|
|
It's been a while since I programmed my original 6131. I just got a new one from Rob, and I can't remember having to do this on my original.
I connected the 6131 to my JP1 cable and PC and uploaded all the programming from my old 6131. Even though the data was there, the remote wasn't using it from the EEPROM.
I removed and reinstalled the batteries and voila, it worked. I tested again by using the 981 code to erase the EEPROM. Same thing.
Is this normal? I don't remember doing this before. |

After the 981, were you able to load your data OK and did the remote use it? _________________ Rob

After I did a 981... I loaded my data, then it wouldn't work. So I remove the batteries and reinstalled the batteries and then it worked.
Also... I noticed a couple of times a 981 wouldn't work... 2 flashes and then one. So I removed the batteries and reinstalled the batteries. Then did a 981 and it works.
It's almost like removing and reinstalling the batteries is causing the remote to look at the EEPROM. Wierd... I'll have to play around with it some more next week to see if it is functioning differently from my original 6131. |

Just a quick comment: are you using the 6131 extender and perhaps forgetting to activate it after loading it? _________________ Just call me Zaphod (or Steve) --- I never should have started using numbers in a screen name but I just can't stop now. |

No extenders.. I just have codes, VPT, Macros and Key moves.
It isn't my remote. I've tried it on two different 6131s.
It's kind of strange. I remove the batteries/re-insert and I see two red LED flashes. Then I know it has reset and used the codes in EEPROM. Sometimes, I don't have to remove the batteries.
Oh well.. it works anyway.. Just strange. |

Have you tested the batteries themselves to make sure that they're fresh. Weak batteries cause all sorts of weird symptoms in remotes. _________________ Rob
