Error Message- access violation....

Post by jwcldwll »

"Access violation at address 004B73B5 in module 'ir.exe". Read of address 54EFFB57."
The above errror message shows up when I load the file at http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=3085
into a 15-2116 remote using Remote Master 1.49. The remote had been working OK untill I removed the Samsung DVD/VCR file and replaced it with a combo file for a Panasonic DMR-ES30V (DVD/VCR).
This DMR unit uses Panasonic Device 176 subdevice 16 except for one Key (VHS) which uses Device 144 subdevice 37 (I checked this 5 times to be sure).
after showing the error message IR refuses to upgrade the remote.
Any ideas will be appreciated.

It looks like the initial download from the remote into IR was bad for some reason. The first 4 bytes of the file do not match what is expected from a 2116. Try downloading it again, save it, then make your upgrade changes.

Actually the download was from a 2117 that I changed and then tried to load into the 2116. Would this explain the code difference? I thought that the 2116 and 2117 are the same except for the RF output capability of the 2117.

The new download works OK- funny because I had done that a few times without success.
One strange thing- the new combo upgrade seems to have eliminated a previous combo upgrade that was bound to a different key for a different device. Is there a limit on the number of combo upgrades you can use?
Thanks for your help.
