Pay attention to image 5.3 in JP1 - Just How Easy Is It? (For Rm Users). That tutorial will help you a lot.

importing cff decoded text

Post by iancoates »

Reading your instructions I am not sure how to import the decoded text file from a learnt pronto cff file?

I can open the file with Excell but what then. It will not import into RM as there is no code fro "remote"?

Any suggestions

Thanks

Human judgement is still required in the process of reading the output from DecodeCCF. We don't have programs that can do the job.

You need to identify the basic info (protocol, device number, maybe subdevice number) that should be common to all the decodes and enter that data manually on RM's setup sheet.

Then most of the data must go on RM's functions sheet.

If the decoding was clean enough, or you manage to use Excel's sorting ability to group together the cleanly decode lines, you can do a couple large select and copy/paste operations to move the bulk of the info from Excel to RM (once copy/paste for all the function names, and one for all their OBC numbers).

If you can't get the decode data clean enough for that within Excel, you may need to copy individual function name and OBC pairs from Excel to RM.
