If it's possible, I would like to get the discrete on/off advanced code for my Sony 200 disc CD changer when the remote control "channel" switch on the back of the unit is set to 2 or 3.

My remote is a urc-8910.

With the remote control switch on the changer set to "channel" 1, CD setup code 0000 with advanced codes 113 /on and 109 /off work normally.

Is there is an advanced code for setup code CD 0000 that will do a discrete on/off with the "channel" switch on the back of the changer set to 2 or 3?

Do I have to use the JP1 cable and IR.exe to do what I want?

Thanks!

Check out this page...
http://www.hifi-remote.com/sony/Sony_cd.htm

From that page you'll see that CD/0000 corresponds to Sony device code 17, which is CD1 on your changer. CD2 is Sony device code 57 and CD3 is Sony device code 81.

To make your URC-8910 work the changer in either CD2 or CD3 mode, you would need to create a new upgrade using the correct device code. The good news is that all three modes use the same EFCs, so all you would need to do is download a similar upgrade and change the device code.

Of course, you do need to be a JP1 user to do this.

Thanks!

I saw the Sony page but I don't know enough about the subject to make sense of it. With your hints I think I can figure it out without taking to much time for what is admittedly a trivial detail, but a detail I would like to resolve. Thanks again.
