Hey all,

I have a Nikon D70 camera that does not come with the $20 remote for shutter release. I have a JP1 remote the 2116 and also have a ccf file that has the learned code for shutter release. Using CCF2IR I get:

HOME(00000F9B) "HOME"
Left(00000D6C) "SYS OFF"
Right(00000D6E) "SYS ON"
Vol-(00000D70)
Vol+(00000D72)
Chan-(00000D74)
Chan+(00000D76)
Mute(00000D78)

DEVICE(00000FDC) "Nikon D70"
panel(00000F09) "Shutter" 1
Button(00000D85)=75,79, size=100,34, "Shutter", font=Pronto 12
IR Code: "LEARNED" 0000 006E 0004 0000 0011 0453 000F 003C 000C 008A 000E 0453
freq=37.7KHz

But I can't figure out how to get from this learned code to a JP1 code. The device etc aren't listed so I don't really know how to proceed. I've tried searching for "hex to jp1" and "ccf to jp1" but got nothing.

I have created and loaded a number of devices to my remote so far, so I'm completely capable there.

Thanks for any help.

Russell

PS, if I ever do get this figured out, I'll post back here exactly which device and code to use Wink

That signal looks vaguely like the one for the Canon Digital Rebel camera, so try this upgrade out, just in case it's the same:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jp1/files/3.%20Device%20Codes/Cameras/Canon_Digital_Rebel_Camera_KM.txt

If it doesn't work I'll take a closer look at the signal later.

Try this:

Upgrade Code 0 = 6F D5 (Cable/2005) keymap-master Device Upgrade (KM v8.28)
F0 00 11 40
End

Upgrade Protocol 0 = 01 F0 (S3C8+) Custom Protocol for Cable/2005 keymap-master Device Upgrade (KM v8.28)
43 8C 01 8B 12 84 44 08 02 00 C8 06 F4 00 C8 03
0C 39 60 00 E1 39 4C 8D 01 46
End

It's on the power key of Cable/2005

Jon and Rob

No luck with that info Sad I tried the Canon upgrade first with no luck, then I input the device info and then manually set the protocol upgrade according to the info Jon posted but it didn't work.

I've pasted the txt file from KM master just to be sure I did it right.

If you come up with anything else, I'd really appreciate it. I'm going to go to as many camera stores as I can to see if they carry the remote to learn the signal.

In your KM spreadsheet you didn't create any command in the functions tab and hence no button assigned in buttons. I think you are trying to make it too hard. You would need to change cell C5 in the Setup tab to OBC. Go to function tab type "40h" adjacent to the the power key (or any other label you want to create). Then make sure that function is selected in Buttons.

I had already set up the text that I posted for a 2116/7 to be directly entered into IR. I also posted my KM Master file to files. You will need to setup the Cable device button for setup code Cable/2005 under the genral tab in IR.

Jon,

Thanks for posting the files. I did paste the info directly into IR first, and assigned my SAT device to CBL 2005 and got no result. That's why I tried the KM route. Perhaps I just mis-copied the info in IR. I'll try again tonight with the files you uploaded to see if I can get it to work Smile

Thanks for all your effort!

Russell

I noticed there was never any followup posted here.
For the benefit of others trying to get thier JP1 remotes to fire a Nikon, the device and upgrade codes posted above by Jon work great! I used them to program a URC8810 and can now ire the shutter of my Nikon D50 with it. (Just remember to turn on the remote mode on the camera!)
