1. Device: RCA D52W20B
2. Type of device: Wide Screen HD Television
3. Year: 2003
4. JP1 Remote model: URC9910
5. JP1 user? Yes
6. Still have original remote? Yes
7. Checked the file section? Yes
8. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)? Yes
9. Partially working setup code? No
10. Learning remote question? No

I am searching for the discrete power on/off codes for this Televsion. I have tried the power on/off codes from every file and post I can find on the pronto boards, here, and on the Yahoo group files section. All of the files so far have had these codes:

On/Display 227 15 58 ff 3a
Power Off 219 15 59 ff 3b

Obviously these do not work for this television. The power toggle in all of the files checked so far does, however, work:

Power Toggle 099 15 42 ff 2a

I will add the the discrete inputs found in the Yahoo group files section do not work for this television, however I found these codes on the Pronto boards which do work:

Input: Component 1 079 15 168 ff a8
Input: Component 2 247 15 167 ff a7
Input: DVI 094 15 138 ff 8a
Input: Front 071 15 169 ff a9
Input: Video 1 087 15 171 ff ab
Input: Video 2 095 15 170 ff aa

As soon as I find the discrete On/Off codes I will post the .rmdu I am working on to Yahoo since I haven't found these discrete input device codes there anywhere.

Thanks so much to anyone who can point me in the right direction!

Dale

It might help us if you tell us how you've tested all these codes? Like, did you add them to an upgrade, in which case what did the upgrade look like (protocol, device code, etc) or did you test them as keymoves (in which case, what setup code were you using).

Hi Robman,

I started with the this upgrade:

RCA-TV%27s_All_commands-KM.txt

(Link Fixed)

Then compared the codes I found throughout other upgrades, posts, and translations of posts from the pronto boards using the IRTool.exe program with DecodeIR.dll.

Every code I have found for discrete power on/off for RCA TV's has been the same as the codes already found in this 1047 upgrade. Actually every discrete power on/off for any RCA device has had an OBC of 58 for power on and 59 for power off, but changes the device number.

I hope this makes sense, this is my first try at jp1, upgrades etc. Just got the URC-9910 this week (that I ordered from you Robman, THANKS THANKS THANKS for this great remote!!!!!!).

Dale

You need to read the sticky post about how to post links to yahoo files. Your link is broken.

I'm looking in all the stickies, but I don't see any information on creating links to Yahoo files, perhaps someone could point me in the right direction? Thanks!

That thread isn't sticky anymore because nobody gets device code files from Yahoo anymore, well, almost nobody! Smile

At any rate, I fixed the link.

As for the file that you used, I see that it uses the RCA Combo protocol, so it's probably not the best one to test with. I would recommend that you try this one instead...

I'd point out, however, Robman, that your file also has no discretes, which was, after all, the original point of this thread. 8)

Nevermind, this is a direct result of the poster being an idiot. I had assigned the discrete on/off codes to F.Fwd and F.Rwd instead on Fwd and Rwd... Thanks a ton guys!

Are you saying that the discrete functions work? (We really don't know/care what buttons you're talking about)

The OP found the discrete codes elsewhere and was then adding them to his upgrade file to test them, but the upgrade file that he was using uses the RCA combo protocol, which means he would have to BOTH enter the correct OBC and the correct device code. My suggestion was to add the discrete codes that he found to the file that I posted as it uses the vanilla RCA protocol, thereby removing one more opportunity to make a mistake. I was not suggesting that the file already had the discrete codes in it.

Yes, the discrete codes work, I was just pressing the wrong buttons on the remote to test them. My next step will be to start with the file Robman suggested and update with all of the discrete codes I've found and I'll upload it (in .rmdu format, sorry I don't have all the extensions to excel installed for KM).
