Key code for "advance" on Philips Tivo

Post by utmba95 »

I'm having a hard time finding out how to program my Tivo "advance" button using the URC-6131 extender. Advance is not defined in the KeyMap function list and I don't know where to look up the EFC/OBC/HEX code. Can somebody tell me what I'm doing wrong, or is the key just not in any of the lists?

Here's what I'm doing:
I know that the 0 (zero) key is HEX 73, EFC 153, OBC 049 from KM spreadsheet. I can also find 0 in the advanced code section on the web page which shows EFC 665, and subtracting 512 I get the same 153, so I know I'm looking at the right values. Unfortunately this page doesn't have advance. I've looked at all of the other documents I can find to find a correlation between "0" and "advance" and I can't find it.

I have been able to make it work by creating a DSM using HEX 29 code, but this is kind of a kludge.

Can anybody help? I also have a Harmon/Kardon AVR-85 that I can't get the correct codes for UP/DOWN/RIGHT/LEFT arrow. Anybody know these? One I put an EEPROM back in my Cinema 7 I'm going to learn these and see if I can decode them.

The advance function has been called several different names in KM upgrade files. I have seen advance, jump, jump to live, and quick skip. Do you see any of these in your KM file? The EFC is 218 and the OBC is 39.

Thanks Chris. You're right, it's called Jump/Quick Skip. The default mapping made me think that was Prev, but it's not.

There are some codes at remote central which you have to run through
decode IR and they might be able to help. Check these out. BigD P.S. put extra questions as new topics.Try left arrow efc 195
right arrow efc 191
up arrow efc 189
down arrow efc 193
I got these from a HK avr75
