In an earlier thread I told of the failure of the parallel interface on my XP Pro machine, even though it worked on my older machine under ME. I tried everything suggested here to the best of my ability and could never get it to pass the "Check interface" test.
The purpose of this note is to report that I got the USB cable today from www.diygadget.com. Had it up and running in 5 minutes. Although I realize that many here have used the parallel interface successfully, as I did on one computer, I do not think it is a robust implementation. I would recommend that newcomers go directly to USB. Spend a little more and skip the frustration.
